Woman bash charges
A MAN will appear in Tweed Heads court today charged with punching his girlfriend numerous times in the head and leaving her unconscious.
About 11pm on Friday, the pair were walking on Woodlands Drive, Banora Point, when he allegedly became aggressive.
The unconscious woman was treated by paramedics as the man left the scene. She was treated at Tweed Heads Hospital for swelling, bruising and soft tissue injuries.
The man was arrested by police at Banora Point after a struggle. He allegedly kicked and shattered the perspex dock door at the police station.
He is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, resist police and malicious damage. Bail was refused.
