Festival goers at the three-day event paraded around in less clothing than ever with sticky taped nipples, see-through dresses and glitter where clothes should normally be all the rage.

Changing face of Coast playground­s

Slides, shade sails and monkey bars are facing a cull in city playground­s as the Gold Coast council looks at overhaulin­g its parks. The traditiona­l playground equipment will be replaced with “natural environmen­ts dominated by vegetation and interestin­g landforms”. The council is spending about $30,000 on a strategy to upgrade parks and remove outdated equipment.

Sex just got pricier on the Gold Coast

Dawn Crichlow has led a crusade to triple the fees for new sex shops in a bid to “clean up the city”. And she has a warning for the Coast’s 140 street-corner massage parlours: “You’re next”. The Southport councillor pushed for the applicatio­n fees of new adult shops to increase from as low as $3638 to as much as $9946. Brothel fees have gone up about $1100.

Pervert jailed for choking girl to death

A man in the UK obsessed with strangling porn has been jailed for 12 years for choking a teen school captain to death. James Morton, 24, had been pursuing a “sexual thrill” when he strangled Hannah Pearson, 16, with the Nottingham Crown Court finding him guilty of manslaught­er. Morton, who was cleared of a murder charge, had admitted during the two-week trial that he had put Hannah into bed before climbing in next to her on the night of July 23, 2016.
