Greene hit with ban

-

TOBY Greene’s appalling history of tribunal offences means he will serve a two-match striking ban for the second time this season.

The AFL match review panel offered the star GWS forward the penalty for jabbing Richmond defender Alex Rance on the head at the MCG on Sunday.

GWS quickly took the early plea, reducing Greene’s penalty from three games to two.

It means he misses key games against Fremantle and Melbourne.

Greene has been fined or suspended at least once every year since his 2012 AFL debut.

He has gone to a new low this season, with a $1000 fine for misconduct and a $1000 sanction for striking.

Western Bulldogs key position player Jack Redpath faces a one-game ban for striking Gold Coast co-captain Tom Lynch on Saturday.

Redpath and Lynch were also fined for wrestling each other.
