Play stays in parks
FORTS, slides, swings and see saws are set to stay in the Gold Coast’s parks and playgrounds.
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate introduced additional recommendations at yesterday’s Gold Coast City Council meeting to ensure play equipment, including shade sails remained in place.
The move comes after the Community Services Committee made a decision to spend $30,000 on a review of the city’s parks and playgrounds with a view to using natural landscaping and trees for playgrounds.
“Forts, slides, swings and seesaws remain as a central part of our city’s active and healthy playgrounds,” the new recommendation reads.
