THE FACE OF ‘HONOUR KILLING’

-

SHOWING off her new make-up, this is the teenager believed to have been raped and murdered for dating an Arab Muslim.

The body of 19-year-old Celine Dookhran, who was an Indian Muslim, was found last week in a fridge-freezer at a £1.5million house in southwest London.

The 33-year-old man accused of the suspected “honour killing” is scheduled to face court this morning.

Before her death, Miss Dookhran had tweeted about passing her driving test, her forthcoming holidays and offered her thanks to Allah.

But on Monday Wimbledon magistrates were told her life was not all happiness because some relatives disapproved of her relationship. Last Wednesday two men in balaclavas grabbed her as she showered and bound her up with duct tape and rope. Miss Dookhran was taken with a second woman – aged 22 – to a six-bedroom house five miles away where both were raped.

Binita Roscoe, prosecuting, said the teenager died after her throat was slit. The second woman was stabbed several times but managed to flee and alerted police from hospital.

Miss Dookhran, who was born in Wandsworth, wanted to become a make-up artist. She used Twitter as a platform to show followers how to use new products. Mujahid Arshid, 33, appeared in court on Monday charged with murder, rape and kidnap. Vincent Tappu, 28, of Ealing, west London, is charged with the kidnap of both women.
