AT 78, BILL SAILS INTO ADVENTURE

WHILE in the sailing mode, at the other end of the age spectrum is Bill Hatfield aged 78.

This week Bill set off from where else but the Southport Yacht Club, to conquer the world. He is attempting to become the oldest sailor to circumnavigate the world solo and non-stop and doing it the hard way east to west.

No fuss, no fanfare, he simply set off aboard his 38ft yacht for a spot of sailing. God speed and fair winds, Bill.
