COURTNEY TAKES LUXURY FOR A SPIN

- ANDREW POTTS

IT’S James Courtney as you’ve never seen him before.

Gone are the racing threads and the casual looks we usually see him in, replaced instead by a tailored suit, high-end jewellery and one of the city’s most expensive vehicles.

The Gold Coast-based Supercars champion stepped out of his specially designed racing cars and into a $930,000 bespoke Rolls Royce Wraith Black Badge.

The 37-year-old driver admitted the luxury vehicle provided a radically different experience from what he was used to in his professional life.

“It is an amazing car but one I will never get to be the owner of,” he said.

“Getting up close and personal with it was really amazing because it really lets you appreciate what a work of art it is.

“Considering the size of it and how much it weighs it is an amazing machine and is really capable to drive.”
