Sad goodbyes for little Kawa
LITTLE Kawa Sweeney’s life support was switched off yesterday, after her parents were given the heartbreaking news that doctors could not save her.
Doctors told Dee Tang and Desmond Sweeney that there was nothing they could do for their three-year-old daughter, who was found unconscious in a Bali pool earlier this week.
The Sydney couple said Kawa’s life support would be turned off late yesterday.
“Unfortunately, in spite of all the hopes and prayers, Kawa has lost her battle. Family are saying goodbye,” they said in a statement.
“We would like to thank everyone who has gone above and beyond in all of this. We are overwhelmed with your generosity.”
The couple were devastated after being given the results of tests on Wednesday that showed Kawa was brain dead.
She had reportedly gone without oxygen for up to 75 minutes after being pulled from the unfenced pool at a Bali surf villa on Sunday.
