Games meet still on track

ATHLETICS officials will have seven weeks to make adjustments for next year’s Commonwealth Games after February 15-18 dates were set for the national championships at Carrara.

The four-day meet, selection trials for Games aspirants, had long been set as the test event for the athletics at the main Games stadium in April.

Hurdles champion Sally Pearson said trials at Carrara gave an edge.

“There’s no better place to prepare, than at the venue where we will be competing for gold,” Pearson said.
