Launchers still missing
THE whereabouts of nine rocket launchers stolen from the Australian Army more than a decade ago and bought by Sydney criminals with terror links is still being investigated by the NSW counterterrorism unit.
Ten 66mm rocket launchers complete with warheads were stolen in 2004. Only one was recovered. Years later it was revealed five of the deadly launchers ended up in the hands of an associate of Mohamed Ali Elomar, who is now serving 21 years’ jail for his role in Australia’s largest terror plot.
