Dinosaur a real turkey

-

IT might not impress Jurassic Park fans who prefer dinosaurs big, toothy and terrifying but the latest species of prehistoric reptile to be discovered is a 2m-tall toothless beast that looks like a large turkey.

The corythoraptor jacobsi is thought to have had brightcoloured feathers and a crest when it lived 66 million to 100 million years ago. The finding sheds more light on how birds evolved from dinosaurs.

The group of dinosaurs known as oviraptorosaurs are now turning up in increasing numbers as fossils in China.
