That sparked unanimous congrats from teammates, rivals and even an honouring tweet from combatants Manly.
Regardless of your club, state or nation, Smith’s universal praise again outlines that it’s those who carry themselves with dignity that tend to win the respect of rivals as much as allies.
It’s a strong lesson for many young athletes.
