JOY VERY PROUD OF WILD JAMIE

YOU can easily see where TV star Jamie Durie gets his performance persona and outgoing personality.

His mum Joy is a real character and was in the Global Tiger Day audience watching her son, so we asked her what he was like growing up.

“I have two sons – Chris who is an architect in Cairns and Jamie – and as teenagers they were almost uncontrollable,” she laughed. “But they’ve grown into fine men.”

As for Jamie’s involvement as Dreamworld’s Wildlife Foundation ambassador it was a natural fit. “We were commissioned to do the design and landscaping for the new enclosure,” he said. “When I heard the continuing threat to the species’ existence I simply had to get involved in trying to help.”
