Tina Clarke and her highland terrier Daisy West bow wowed the judges at The Pup Cup grooming competitio­n. Ms Clarke, a Maudsland resident and owner of Tina’s Dog Grooming, travelled to Coffs Harbour for the competitio­n where she also took second place for her work with her customer’s pet, JJ the bichon. This was the first time Ms Clarke, pictured centre with Daisy West, had entered a grooming competitio­n and she is thrilled the dogs put their best paws forward. LAUREN: Fashion designer turned architect Hiromi Lauren has received a coveted award for her design of a Gold Coast sporting facility. Ms Lauren, of Shiro Architects in Sydney, was awarded the Queensland State Institute of Architects award for commercial architectu­re for her design of the Gold Coast KDV Golf and Tennis Academy in Carrara. The Japanese-born architect was mentored by the renowned Harry Seidler.
