INTERESTING to read all the suggestions re light rail.

I want to know where I am going to park my car. Especially of an evening as the buses stop running from here after 6.30pm.

To date, the stations have been placed in areas where there is little or no parking.

I would love to use the tram if there was a place to park and ride. DC, RUNAWAY BAY

TIGHTER security is now to be installed at airports since this recent foiled terrorist attack.

This is an insult to we Australians with our once safe country now on high security alert due to members of a race of refugees

known for their violence, yet were allowed in by naive politicians, and more are still arriving every day.

Have these Canberra show ponies not learned from France and UK’s terrorist disasters? KEN WADE, TWEED HEADS

THE Liberals won in 2013 on a vow of lower electricity prices.

We were promised a $550 electricity windfall, a 9 per cent drop in electricity prices and a 7 per cent drop in gas prices. They lied.

Since that promise, power prices have doubled and in some cases, for manufacturing, even tripled.

The Liberals also told us any rorting by energy supply companies would result in prosecution and a monitoring task force would be established. Yet more lies.

The economy was stronger and unemployment was lower under that “toxic” carbon tax which most of us were well compensated for and hardly noticed.

We will not let the fog of terror that the Liberals use to win elections cloud our judgment in 2019. RAY ARMSTRONG, TWEED HEADS SOUTH

YOU normally can’t get our traffic police out on to the M1 unless they’re hiding behind a sound barrier in their speed camera vehicles.

But I’ll bet they’re out there today picking up those truck drivers in the right lane who have no clue that the new regulation exists. GT, GOLD COAST

AN ELECTRIC moped is a great way to see the Coast but when a rider ends up in the hot seat, it’s time for a rethink (GCB, 31/7).

Apparently faulty batteries have been the cause of several recent fires in Surfers Paradise. Following a battery of complaints from several people, perhaps their tenure should be terminated, at least until an investigation gives the all-clear.

Let’s stick to pushbikes which are much safer all round and put an end to burning along the Surfers Paradise Esplanade on a moped. KEN JOHNSTON, ROCHEDALE SOUTH

I HAD lunch at a cafe at Labrador the other day. Two large signs, one each side of door saying “No Dogs”. Woman arrives with small dog, sits down, puts dog on lap, dog starts licking table top.

When I commented to waitress that those people obviously can’t read she said, “We get quite a few people with dogs here!”

What’s the good of having a sign if you don’t enforce it? JOAN, BENOWA
