Jones thrilled by results
EDUCATION Minister Kate Jones has plenty of reasons to smile after Queensland delivered some of its highest ever NAPLAN results.
But the writing skills of students still “need to be focused on” in order to bring it up into line with numeracy and other literacy skills.
Yesterday Premier Annastacia Palaszcuk and Ms Jones visited Musgrave Hill State School in Southport, meeting some of the school’s representatives before visiting a grade 5 classroom.
“These are the best results that Queensland has delivered in NAPLAN,” Ms Jones said.
“We’re smiling from ear to ear.”
Ms Jones said Gold Coast results weren’t yet available as only state data had been released.
