Green push in works
OFFICEWORKS will plant two trees for each one used in the paper and wood products it sells as part of a major green push.
The retailer will provide Greening Australia with $1.2 million a year to plant at least 200,000 trees annually on farmland nationwide.
It is the largest donation Greening Australia has received in its 35-year history.
Officeworks managing director Mark Ward said about 8000 products in its range were paper or wood-based.
“We saw a huge opportunity to empower our customers to shop more sustainably and improve the quality of Australia’s landscapes,” Mr Ward said.
