Students on road to safety

NORFOLK Village Police Beat and students from Rivermount College have taken part in the Hanson Young Driver Safety Program.

Police collaborated with senior management of the Hanson Quarry Wolfdene to educate the Year 11 students on sharing the road safely with heavy vehicles.

Police say northern parts of the Gold Coast, including Ormeau and Yatala, are heavily populated with trucks. The presentation included real-life experiences and dash cam videos. Topics also covered braking distances, blind spots, tailgating and overtaking.
