ELLEN Ryan is on track to claim more Gold Coast riches after making it through to the semi-finals of the Golden Nugget Singles Classic.

The dual Australian Open singles champion from the Cabramatta club in Sydney, topped her division after the completion of five sectional rounds yesterday at the Tweed Heads Bowls Club.

Despite losing her final match 25-18 to Victorian Carla Krizanic, 20-year-old Ryan completed the sectionals with four wins and a plus-23 shot margin.

Krizanic was runner-up to Ryan in the second section on 4+21. On the opposite side of the draw West Australian Kristine Krstic topped the class with 4+37, ahead of ageless Norfolk Islander Carmen Anderson on 4+12.

Bester (3+27) edged out Aaron Wilson (3+5), Ben Twist (3+3) and Aaron Teys 3-9).

The other men’s section was dominated by 2016 Australian Open champion Aron Sherriff from Ettalong, who had four wins and a plus-42 shot margin. Fellow NSW player Corey Wedlock was runner-up on 4+7.

The draw for semi-finals this morning (9.30am) are: Men: Sherriff v Wilson, Wedlock v Bester. Women: Krstic v Krizanic, Anderson v Ryan.
