Candyman wins costs

TOBACCO king Travers Beynon has won a minor skirmish in his $200,000 defamation lawsuit against his former sales manager in the District Court.

Beynon was in court on Wednesday, accompanie­d by three women, where he was successful in his bid to force the former sales and franchise manager of his company, Cigarette and Gift Warehouse Franchisin­g, Philip Bradley to pay $9000 of his legal costs.

Mr Bradley, from Arundel, has been given time to refile.
