ASH Gentle’s win in Montreal is another tick to those athletes doing their business with a minimum of fuss.
For all the milliondollar athletes around, there is a Gentle – a humble champion who isn’t bankrolled by anything more than hard work and endless spirit.
Let’s not forget those early mornings pounding the pavement, or the skipped family events in order to sneak in one or two more training sessions.
Indeed, the efforts of these “lesser lights” may not always get the plaudits of those higher profile sorts, but gee they are rewarded with respect, something of which others could benefit from a dose.
