MARKO A REAL TALENT FOR RONALDO’S MADRID

- MEGAN BIROT

SOCCER prodigy Marko Miljkovic has scored his biggest goal yet after being selected to kick it with Real Madrid Football Club.

The nine-year-old player was hand-picked from more than 100 Australian junior players by Real Madrid coaches to play in their youth division.

He will travel to Spain in December after impressing scouts during a tryout day at the Gold Coast Italo Australian Club earlier this year.

The Surfers Paradise State School student, who will play under the Real Madrid umbrella for two weeks, said he looked forward to his time on and off the field.

“I really hope I get to meet Cristiano Ronaldo or see him play because he’s my favourite player,” he said.

Marko hopes to pick up some tips from the star.

“I like playing midfield or left wing because that’s where I do best and kick more goals,” he said.

“I want to learn new soccer tricks and skills so I can show my friends what I’ve learned and then more coaches will see me.”

The young gun plays for Coomera Soccer Club and Gold Coast SAP Academy and hopes to play soccer professionally.

Gold Coast SAP director Shane Robinson said that dream could come true.

“It’s fantastic to be recognised by international clubs and Marko is super dedicated,” Shane said.

“He’s going to play with some of the best junior players in the world so the sky is the limit for him.”
