Teenager ‘eaten’ by sea creatures

The father of a Melbourne teen who came out of the ocean covered in blood has filmed a video of what he believes is the mysterious creature that bit his son. Sam Kanizay, 16, came out of beach in Brighton on Saturday looking like a horror movie extra. He felt sore after football and decided to soak his legs in the water. Half an hour later, he walked out covered in what his family said were tiny marine creatures eating his legs.

Eagle flies high at national home awards

Architect Matthew Eagle has won a major gong at the 2017 Houses Awards in Melbourne. HIs reimaginin­g of the “Burleigh Street House” has been named the top House Alteration and Addition over 200sq m. And owner Colette McCool likens her renovated Burleigh home to a “work of art.” Eagle’s firm ME, which he founded in 2013, was also named Best Emerging Architectu­re Practice at the prestigiou­s ceremony.

Another bad break for Heard

Hollywood star Amber Heard has endured her second breakup while visiting Australia. Currently here filming Aquaman, sources close to Heard have revealed she has split from billionair­e boyfriend Elon Musk. A friend of the pair has said the couple ended their yearlong romance last week.

‘Drop the knife’... then two bangs

A knife-wielding man has died after being shot by police in a stand-off at Grafton on Sunday. A critical incident investigat­ion team is looking into the shooting. On arrival, officers were allegedly confronted by a man armed with a knife, a police statement said. Officers told him to put down the weapon and tried to use a Taser stun gun on him, but it was unsuccessf­ul and police were forced to shoot.
