Mixed bag in survey

-

BUSINESS conditions across Australia are at their highest level since before the financial crisis almost a decade ago, according to National Australia Bank’s monthly survey.

Conditions climbed one point to 15 in July, the survey’s highest level since early 2008 and three times greater than the long-run average, NAB said.

Business confidence was also strong as a result, up four points to 12.

However, the good vibes are not being felt across all industry sectors, with professional services more buoyant while the retail and wholesale sectors dipped.

It was also a mixed bag for workforce indicators, with the index of employment conditions unchanged from a month earlier while wage measures weakened.
