Lifesavers for libraries
GOLD Coast libraries and community centres are to be given defibrillators to increase public first aid points across the city.
A plan set to go to the Gold Coast City Council’s community services committee today proposes defibrillators are purchased and an increase in CPR training offered to council staff.
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said the council would also be encouraging businesses to purchase their own defibrillators to have for public use in an emergency.
“This stops you looking around for 10 minutes for help,” he said. “That make a difference.”
