IF IT is inspiration you seek, look no further than John Coutis.

In something of a coup for the Gold Coast Academy of Sport, John was kind enough to speak at their awards ceremony at RACV Royal Pines Resort.

His story is a case study in overcoming obstacles.

Born with a rare form of spina bifida, he endured horrific bullying at school and then, at 18, deciding to have the stumps of his legs amputated.

Today John, pictured with wife Leanne by his side, travels the world on his skateboard, working as a motivational speaker and inspiring countless generations to reach for the sky. Yes, a truly remarkable man.
