EXPANSION PLANS

In July last year, Nerang RSL manager Andrew McInnes revealed ambitious expansion plans including a hotel.

It came on the back of a mem-bership boom, soaring 18,000 to 35,000 in 18 months. The club had become “a destination for dining and entertainment, as opposed to your standard RSL club” and was hosting far more business conventions.

“We’re hoping to capitalise on that by getting these people to stay at the hotel,” he said.
