French end Aussie hopes
FULLBACK Samantha Treherne says the Wallaroos will “come out firing” against Japan in their final pool match of the women’s rugby World Cup after a 48-0 thrashing at the hand of France ended Australia’s hopes of making the semi-finals.
Coach Paul Verrell rated the game as “disappointing’’ against an unbeaten side who scored eight tries.
The Wallaroos goal now is to ensure they finish better than their seventh at the last World Cup, with a spot in the semi-finals off the table.
