Bashed with bolt cutters

AN alleged bolt cutter-wielding thief has been charged by police over a Highland Park burglary.

The 29-year-old man, from Helensvale, was allegedly one of two men who entered a Kilpatrick Court residence around 11.20pm on July 29.

One of the men was allegedly armed with a firearm.

Police allege a male occupant of the residence was struck with a pair of bolt cutters which caused a severe laceration to his forearm which required hospital treatment.

It will be further alleged one man rummaged through the rooms and removed property.

The Helensvale man has appeared in court charged with enter dwelling with intent and armed robbery in company personal violence. He was remanded in custody to reappear in Southport Magistrate­s Court on September 5.
