CHOICE HOMES: Winning the Sloping Site category at the Master Builders Awards was always going to be an uphill battle but Choice Homes rose to the challenge.
The company, established in 1993, won the award with The Collinsville — a four bedroom steel-post home situated on an extreme slope. According to Choice Homes director Troy Knight, the project was the result of the company’s high-quality building capabilities and numerous years’ experience with building on sloping blocks, including a 2013 Master Builders win for the same category.
“The finished product enjoys the best of yesteryear styling and today’s construction with an enviable street scape from the road and incredible outlook via the breezy decks and living areas,” Mr Knight said.
GRESHAM: Duo Isobel and Thomas Gresham (above) won the Junior Miss and Junior Beau at the final of the Tweed Ball Series at Murwillumbah Catholic Hall. The contestants danced the Pride of Erin, played by the band Trilogy, and judges Peter and Elain Van Den Broek had a difficult choice to make. Other winners included Miss Tweed Kate Hodges, Tiny Tot Miss Jazmin Harris, Matron Helen Stubbin and Senior Beau Tony Kaucic. Now the ball season is over, the summer dance season begins. Dances are held from 8pm at Bilambil Hall on the second Saturday of the month, and Tumbulgum Hall on the third Saturday of the month.
All are welcome. Tickets available at the door and supper is provided.
