Shock death of Miami ‘pool king’

Fumitsugo “Freddy” Kuwahata, a well-loved regular at the Miami Aquatic Centre, has died suddenly at 52. “He didn’t arrive on Saturday and that’s when we filed a missing-person report,” said the centre manager. “Police went to his apartment and he had passed away in his sleep. Our regulars and staff are really feeling it. He arrived here 21 years ago and it became his life.”

Police criticise crash ‘sightseers’

Police have criticised dozens of “sightseers” who brought their children to watch emergency crews try to save four people at a crash. A mother and daughter were killed – and two others left in a critical condition – in northern NSW on Sunday when their car left the road in a high-speed crash. The family of four Hong Kong tourists were returning from a day trip to Byron Bay at about 4.20pm.

Liz gets snaky with billionair­e in traffic tiff

Liz Cantor yelled abuse at a driver she claims deliberate­ly drove over a snake on the Gold Coast, not realising it was billionair­e Tesla boss Elon Musk. Cantor was so appalled she later pulled up beside the Tesla and gave its driver a serve. It was only later that Cantor recognised him. A spokesman for Mr Musk, however, denied he was involved in the incident.

Bieber rejected by gym beauty

Justin Bieber was rebuffed on Twitter after he DM’d a gym’s Instagram to try and get contact info for one of their employees, Jessica Gober. Jessica tweeted, “Did this actually just happen... lmao Justin Bieber just messaged the gym that I work at and asked who I was hahahaha WTF” Unfortunat­ely for Bieber, Gober then tweeted out a photo collage of pictures of her snuggling up to her boyfriend.
