Herman wants to make Knight of it

-

HERMAN Ese’ese has appealed for fellow Broncos forward Adam Blair to join him in Newcastle next year.

Ese’ese, who signed a threeyear deal with the Knights last month, believes the Kiwi star could provide the young Newcastle squad with the experience it needs in coming seasons.

Blair is still contracted to the Broncos until the end of 2018 but he has been given permission to look at offers from other teams for next year.

The Knights are keen on Blair and it is believed the prop visited Newcastle last weekend.

Ese’ese said while Blair could still stay in Brisbane, he had his fingers crossed that he would follow him south.

“He’s helped me a lot, both on and off the field,” Ese’ese said. “He’s a good role model for me.

“He’s got the experience and the leadership that I think Newcastle has been missing.

“A guy like Adam Blair ... he would definitely fit perfectly.’’

It is believed Blair has also attracted interest from the New Zealand Warriors and St George Illawarra Dragons.

It is unclear when he will make a decision on his future.
