COAST WOMEN THROW MODELLING INDUSTRY A CURVE BALL

- MEGAN BIROT

THEY’RE the supermodels of the future – and they don’t all look like the ultra-skinny models of the past.

These gorgeous Gold Coast women believe they have what it takes to be crowned Australian Supermodel of the Year, where curves are most definitely in fashion.

Heading into the national final auditions, Jaydan Thomson, 20, who will compete in the pageant’s inaugural curve division, said she was delighted by the change.

“The new curve division proves that the modelling industry is embracing curves now, so that’s amazing,” she said

Paris Hamlyn, 17, in the teen division, hopes her confidence will go a long way on the runway.

“Living on the Gold Coast, we’ve already got a model tan and care-free attitude so I think we’re already ahead of the other girls,” she said.

“Hopefully the judges see our authenticity.”

Following national final auditions, 20 successful contestants will head to Bali for the Grand Final in November.

They will be judged on their catwalk ability, personality and overall presence.
