The collapse of a Gold Coast building company has left 133 tradies and staff more than $3.4 million out of pocket and 35 would-be home owners in limbo. The state’s building authority has suspended the licence of Queensland One Homes, which was put into liquidatio­n in July.

CrossFit trainer Revie Jane Schulz has told new mums trying to get back into shape to be “kinder to yourself”. Ms Schulz, who gave birth to Lexi in April 2016, wrote to her 156,000 followers: “I thought being healthy, fit and young would mean I would be like so many other mama’s (sic) … who simply, had a baby and looked a little bloated afterwards.”

First look: Coast stuntman on Ninja

Gold Coast stuntman Johann Ofner’s Australia’s Ninja Warrior performanc­e has finally been made public. Ofner, 28, made the finals of Channel 9’s hit physical challenge series last December before he was tragically killed on the set of a music video being filmed for Bliss N Eso in Brisbane in January. Ofner’s girlfriend, model Kati Garnett, shared a montage of his run on the series in a heartbreak­ing public post on her Facebook page.

Abetz takes aim at ‘tin-pot’ mayors

Liberal senator Eric Abetz has taken a shot at “tin-pot” mayors acting as if they were prime minister. Responding to a decision by Victoria’s Yarra City Council to change the way it recognises Australia Day, Mr Abetz has challenged local government leaders to run for Federal Parliament. The council voted on Tuesday to stop referring to January 26 as Australia Day.
