Kyrgios Nicks an advantage

NICK Kyrgios grabbed a mental advantage for the Davis Cup semi-final next month with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Belgian No.1 David Goffin in their ATP Cincinnati first-round match yesterday.

Ninth seed Goffin needed a medical time out for a knee injury, which clouds his chances to contest the US Open and spearhead his country’s September 15-17 home semi-final against Australia.

Kyrgios was to play qualifier Alexandr Dolgopolov in the second round.
