Dees have Viney hope

-

MELBOURNE co-captain Nathan Jones is refusing to bet against fellow leader Jack Viney’s chances of playing in Sunday’s critical clash against Brisbane at the MCG.

As the Demons continue their fight to secure a berth in their first finals series in 11 years, there is a fitness cloud over Viney after he pulled up sore following the team’s win over St Kilda at the weekend.

Viney was on crutches at the club on Monday and did not train with his teammates yesterday. But Jones described Viney as a “tough customer” and was backing his chances of getting up for the Lions.

“You’d be a game man to bet againt him,’’ Jones said.

Viney, 23, underwent surgery on his foot last month.
