PRINCESS AND THE TEEPEE

- AMANDA ROBBEMOND

HOSTING the slumber party of your little princess’s dreams has just got easier.

Palm Beach mum Jacqueline Quick has launched a service supplying handmade, colourful teepees for children’s parties.

“I was actually on maternity leave and I had to find a job that would work with my daughter,” Ms Quick said.

“My niece had a birthday celebration ... and I made the teepees up. I had friends ask to borrow them.”

Ms Quick said her new business, Sleepy Soirees Teepee Parties, was quickly gaining momentum, with bookings pouring in for the September school holidays.

She said the handmade teepees were customisable and different coloured fabrics could be used.

“We do the teepees with mattresses and bedding and have extras available like a photo booth, dress up box, games and pamper packs,” she said.

“(We decorate) with cushions and fairy lights. A candy bar table is available as well. We’re trying to make a special day for kids.”

A two-person teepee party starts at $99, with up to 10 teepees available for $350.
