Couple moving on from vacant unit

-

A RUSSIAN couple who bought seven strata-titled retail units at The Brighton on Broadwater Shores complex between 2009 and 2012 have succeeded in offloading one of their properties.

Ekaterina Shusharina and Alexander Shusharin have sold the vacant 61sq m unit at 405/1 Como Cres, Southport, for $433,500 to an owner-occupier.

They purchased the unit for $475,000 along with six others for a total spend of $5.438 million.

The shops front Queen St in The Shores, where many have sat empty on and off for long periods since the tower was completed more than 11 years ago.

An attempt last year to sell the units at auction failed to secure any buyers.

Ray White Commercial’s Luke Boulden, who marketed the property with colleague Wayne Devenport, said the remaining units, ranging from 47sq m to 128sq m, were priced from $399,000 and offered an attractive location.

“There is an opportunity here to capitalise on a vibrant living precinct and join existing operators within the popular Meriton precinct,” he said.

The Shores is a short distance from the 55-level Sundale tower, which last year opened its retail area.
