Games could bring industry to dead halt
One the Gold Coast’s leading funeral directors has claimed that planners have ignored the impact the 2018 Commonwealth Games could have on funerals in the city. Terry Hobson of A Gentle touch Funerals said several of the city’s biggest cemeteries were close to games venues. “Southport Lawn and Southport General cemeteries are both close to the hockey and swimming venues which means funeral processions could get caught up in Games traffic,” he said.
