Fugitives arrested

-

TWO of Queensland’s most wanted fugitives who allegedly used the dark web to sell masses of deadly drugs were sensationally caught yesterday by police, almost a year after they were twice released on bail.

Gold Coast couple Jonathon and Kathleen Ann Grey made a mockery of the state’s bail system last September when they vanished from under the nose of authorities.

The pair was first arrested in July 2016, charged with using the internet black market to sell heroin, amphetamines and cannabis.

They were apprehended again in September after allegedly growing and selling cannabis out of their Gold Coast home, but were released on bail for a second time, by a Beenleigh magistrate.

The pair had evaded police for 11 months, but were captured in South Australia yesterday afternoon.

Mr Grey, 41, who also goes by the name Jonathon Macfarlane, is considered to be Queensland’s worst dark net drug kingpin. Mrs Grey, 46, was the only woman to be featured on Crime Stoppers’ wanted list this year.
