THREE’S A CROWD AT SNAPPER

- GREG STOLZ

ALL a-board!

These surfers found themselves sharing limited space at Snapper Rocks yesterday as pumping waves saw dozens trying to grab their chance in the water.

A dearth of surf in recent weeks has made for crowded conditions on the Coast’s pointbreaks after some serious swell finally appeared at the weekend. But, alas for boardriders, the big waves will be short-lived.

After peaking on Sunday at more than 2m, the swell abated yesterday and will drop off further today.

And onshore northerly winds are also blowing in, resulting in messy conditions on the points.

But at least surfers have been able to dust off their boards.
