Driver out on bail
A DRIVER who allegedly run down a pedestrian in Surfers Paradise on Saturday has been released on bail.
Anthony Melit, 38, fronted Southport Magistrates Court yesterday in a white prisonissue gown charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing grievous bodily harm.
Police will allege Melit drove into a pedestrian walking on Trickett Street. The man was treated for a broken leg.
Duty lawyer Dominque Leong said Melit would be disputing a number of the allegations made by police.
