TITANS’ TURMOIL

-

TITANS boss Graham Annesley says the sacking of coach Neil Henry was not a direct result of a falling-out with superstar player Jarryd Hayne.

He admitted yesterday it was a factor, but said the board looked at other issues he could not discuss, other than to say the only agenda was a decision in the club’s best interests. Despite validity of other factors, unfortunately the reluctance to canvass them publicly risks the rugby league world seeing this as the tail wagging the dog. The Gold Coast now has to find and back the right coach for 2018, which will not be easy. Well-paid players must realise they have a big responsibility to deliver too – and fans are watching closely.
