Somerset to be Coast host

CANADIAN and Northern Irish teams will use Somerset College as a training base ahead of next year’s Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Located in Mudgeeraba, Somerset will host Canada’s athletics and swimming teams, as well as Northern Ireland’s athletics contingent.

Somerset’s facilities include a fully equipped fitness centre, two indoor courts with sprung flooring, an IAAF accredited 10-lane synthetic running track and a 10-lane Olympic swimming and water polo pool.
