NAPLAN’s online fail

THE Australian Education Union has demanded online NAPLAN tests be scrapped.

A trial of the online format is due to go ahead next year after being postponed this year because of technical faults.

Union federal president Correna Haythorpe said unreliable internet access in rural areas and a “digital divide” between tech-savvy and disadvantaged pupils would put some students at a disadvantage.
