THE Titans board has insulted the intelligence of every fan.

If board members are serious in saying everyone is accountable they should look at themselves. They say it is all about results. Last year the Titans made the final eight and they had been unlucky to lose against the Broncos.

This year has been the worst for injuries and most games they have had only 70 per cent of their full roster on the park. With that against them they cannot compete.

The Cowboys look like they may miss the eight, will they sack Paul Green? No.

The Raiders look like they will also miss the eight, will they sack Ricky Stuart. No.

The Knights have had a terrible few years, will they sack Nathan Brown? No.

The great Phil Gould has often said if the front of house at the football club is run well then it is only a matter of time for it to filter through to the players.

The bottom line is get rid of all the board members and then the Titans have a chance to succeed. GEOFF (BRONCOS FAN)

THOSE militant unionists are at it again, holding the country to ransom and threatening strike action.

No, I’m not talking about the Brisbane bus drivers; I’m talking about those militant NRL players.

They are following the bad example set by the nation’s cricketers where some of the players are on well over $1 million per year.

The cricketers and league players should be ashamed of themselves with their threats of industrial action.

All these people are being paid for performing a task they presumably love, and should be thankful for what they receive.

Wages in Australia are generally not keeping pace with the rising cost of living.

It can only be a matter of time that all Australian workers will follow the leads of our militant sportspeople and strike to survive. SHAUN NEWMAN

ROMAN Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne has threatened to sack any person working in a Catholic establishment who “marries” a same-sex partner should such marriages become legal.

So I suppose that would be worse than having gay priests guiding the lives of young people or priests abusing children.

Talk about double standards. KEN JOHNSTON

HAD wonderful time in Southbank. Nice walk down the bougainvillea parade, cruised the market and had wine at the pub.

Thinking why don’t we have this on the Broadwater? The council do their best, they put down grass and say “right, go sit on it”.

Am I the only one who thinks our council is past its use-by date?

We don’t need a casino, we need a Southbank. GLYN

OF COURSE we don’t need a second casino on the Gold Coast. The one we have is hardly overused.

It concerns me, however, that Mr Tate seems obsessed with getting same approved, somewhere. RICHARD GAGIE, ORMEAU
