Coach says Gaz good to go for last match

- CHRIS CAVANAGH

GOLD Coast superstar Gary Ablett is expected to return for the Suns’ final game of the season Port Adelaide on Saturday night.

Ablett has missed four of the past five games with hamstring issues but will train tomorrow and be named to take on the Power in Adelaide.

“As we speak right now he’ll be named and he’ll be training tomorrow night and if he gets through that fine he’ll be playing,” Gold Coast caretaker coach Dean Solomon said on SEN radio.

“Gaz has been doing everything he possibly can to get up for this weekend.

“He said that to me literally two weeks ago that he thought he was a real chance to get up for the Port Adelaide game.”

Ablett’s future remains up in the air, despite being contracted at the club next season.

Solomon – who has coached the past two games since Rodney Eade was sacked – said he would decide next week whether he wanted to put his hand up to continue in the role next season.

“I’ll sit back this time next week and reflect and get a real feel for whether it’s me or not moving forward,” he said.
