RAIN, HAIL AND SHINE

- JACK HARBOUR

A RECENT stint of unseasonably hot weather is over, replaced by an eclectic mix of weather that would do Melbourne proud.

Students of Aquinas College took advantage of a sunny break in the clouds yesterday to do some yoga at Surfers Paradise before an afternoon storm rolled in from the west.

Hinterland houses were hit with hail, strong winds and rain during the small but severe storm – with enough hail falling for one resident to knock together a ‘snowman’.

Forecasters predict temperatures to drop today and remain similar to winter averages over the next week, with a slight possibility of showers over the weekend.
