ILS turbulence ends
AN attempt to halt work on the instrument landing system at Gold Coast Airport has failed.
The Tweed Shire Council earlier this week had voted to write to federal Infrastructure Minister Darren Chester and NSW Environment Minister Gabrielle Upton expressing serious concerns about the ILS construction.
An extraordinary meeting held yesterday rescinded that motion after three councillors, who had not attended the original meeting, objected.
The motion to no longer write to the minsters was won four votes to three.
