SNAPPER are on the bite, and that’s good news for Gold Coast boaties.

Today we launch Luke Bradnam’s Coast Fishing section in the Bulletin, with the news about snapper being just one excellent tip for anglers. Fishing is a huge recreational pastime here. The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show this year recorded its best event in a decade, with 42,256 people attending – up from 41,000 last year. Department of Transport figures also show there were 145,437 registered, regulated craft in the Gold Coast/Brisbane region at June 30, up from 142,954 last year.

More than half of those are open runabouts – and there’s a beaut tinnie up for grabs in Coast Fishing today.
